Mark F. Sullivan earned his undergraduate degrees in math and economics from
Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa
cum laude, and his MBA from Harvard Business School. His professional
foundation in corporate finance was established at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in
New York, where he accumulated broad experience in public offerings, acquisitions,
divestitures, and leveraged buyouts that aggregated approximately $9 billion
in value.
Based on this experience, Mr. Sullivan became Director of Strategic Planning for Teknekron Corporation, where he designed and implemented a portfolio company exit strategy that achieved more than $225 million of liquidity for company shareholders in 18 months. He then consulted independently to emerging growth companies on institutional private market transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and equity financings, leading to a position as a founding member of the private equity financing group at Kidder, Peabody & Co.
Subsequently, he joined regional investment banking firm D. A. Davidson & Co. as co-head of corporate finance with the express purpose of launching and building the firm's corporate finance department. In this position, Mr. Sullivan developed a full-service corporate finance business that during his tenure executed private financings, public offerings, and merger and divestiture transactions totaling over $200 million in value.
Based on this cumulative experience covering virtually all segments of the capital markets, Mr. Sullivan founded Private Equity Partners (PEP) as a boutique financial advisory firm specializing in institutional private equity and debt financings, selected M&A transactions, and advisory projects in both corporate finance and M&A. In these specialty areas, PEP has effected more than $200 million in transaction value for companies from a wide array of industries, including information technology, wireless communications, healthcare, financial services, consumer products, and specialty retailing.
